finals and finally.

right now i am studying for my very last final at dixie state.
not sad at all.
sad that i am studying yes, not sad that it is my last final.
i found myself wishing today that i would get sick and spend the night in the hospital or something so i could have longer to study for the final.
then i decided that i hate my professor and i, along with my classmates, should scare him out of the state.
reality hit me so now i am studying.
right, i am blogging. i needed a break ok?

tomorrow at ten o'clock if you are near the science building on dsc's campus you will hear or see my celebrations.
maybe i will kiss the ground?
probably not but that is how awesome the celebration will be.

also while i was "studying" i looked up basenji puppies because i have been missing Cede.

i need this little thing in my life.
not want, need.

a friend called Belle.

april has been full of birthdays! amongst them was this girls.

hailey hammer a.k.a belle
age 19 as of april 11th 2012

i absolutely adore this family! marsh babe and craiger have been adopted as second parents.

our chef at samurai 21 for the night was hilarious. he could have easily been my favorite until he pulled the, force you to guzzle sprite from a spraying thing trick.

just like at any tepanyaki or hibachi place he flipped food into our mouth. hailey first and then he pulled out the bottle and forced her to do as craig is doing in the below picture. before she could swallow and re-gain her composure he had flipped a piece of veggie into my mouth and began squirting what i thought to be water in my mouth.

not. water. i don't drink pop ever (because i don't like it, not for some odd or extreme reason) so the second the sprite hit my throat was on fire and my eyes were watering like crazy. at this point i noticed that hailey had spit her whole mouthful out onto the table. yes we are five and still spit things out if we don't like them.

as you can tell craig took the sprite like a champion. ooh isn't it cute how marsh babe is looking at him?
l.o.v.e.

don't even worry.....my mouth was just stuffed full of veggies. food grin anyone?

look out there is a gorgeous nineteen year old out on the town! i am her personal secretary. inquiries about possible dates can be applied to me. thank you.

a little bit of nail bliss.

thanks to a fellow blogger i was introduced to this site. it has killer deals on lots of beauty supplies but i have recently become addicted to nail polish so that is what drew my attention.

three bones for one bottle of china glaze. yes i am telling the truth. can't complain about not paying almost eight per bottle right?!

shocking pink - secret periwinkle - happy go lucky - flip flop fantasy - for audrey

i am well pleased with my first order! shipping is a little steep but if you do a decent order it is worth it! now i must go fix up my nails.

birthday boys.

birthday boy number one: karston charles
age 11 as of march 27th.

on his birthday i thought he would love it if i went and picked him up from school and took him to lunch. i remember thinking being checked out of class for a special occasion was the best thing in the world, back in my elementary days. turns out things are a little different in the boy world.

his class had gone to lunch early so i got there after he had his school lunch, which he had already wolfed down half of. i asked him if he wanted to go anyways and with that question i put him into a moral dispute with himself.

i watched as he debated whether or not to tell me he didn't want to go. inside i was saying no way jose...i drove over here we. are. going. so i did what any responsible sibling would do. want to get ice cream instead?! sold.

off we went to get ice cream don't worry though he had me checking the clock every minute or two and only consumed about 1/3 of his ice cream before we were on the way back to the school so he could play at lunch recess. what a goon he is!

why is he shirtless? the better question to ask is when does he put a shirt on. he would run around in his underwear only always if the parentals let him. it must run in the family because anthony and i are the same way. we embrace underwear in the bauman home i guess!

mommy. she will "ground" me when she reads this. this is her signature face though annnd, she still looks pretty!

take back your terror...it is just an airsoft gun! yet it still causes a nice stinging pain. i took one of those bb's in the butt. ouch.

karst rides his bike to school. not because he has to but because he likes the exercise and freedom. what a kid, what a kid!

welcome to the event we like to call...camera holder, i dare you to get a normal family pic.

and finally a good one except i look like i am high on the candle smoke and karst looks like he is just about there!

birthday boy number two: anthony kent
17 as of april 24th

anth was so busy being a stud doing this.....

...that we haven't had his actual party time yet. i have two cutie/attractive brothers huh. yeah they are my faves.

forever a child in the heart.

today i got home from school and decided i would be a good daughter and put the ironing board away so the parentals wouldn't have to remind me to do it when they got home. as i was doing this good deed i lifted the dang thing a little too high in the laundry room, heard a very loud sound of breaking glass, and then received a nice glass shower from above.

i didn't feel any "you just got cut" pain so i carried on cleaning up. and then there was blood all over my arm. not kidding either when i say all over. so i ran to the bathroom and was ever so disappointed to find only boring tan band-aids. come on mom who buys just boring bandages?! because of the lack of any other choice i slapped them on the cleaned up cuts and carried on only to find that my leg and foot caught some glass as well. sweeeet.

after cleaning up obviously because there is nothing better to do on finals week i colored on the boring band-aids. then i thought to myself, what nineteen year old does that?

somewhere deep inside me in all this stress of finals i believe that little alyssa has come back from the depths. cheers to still having those little you moments even when you are growing up you!

laughed my head off.

perhaps this is so funny to me because i used to teach little ones like this.

or maybe i am just easily amused? poor little girl.

excuse me while i whine

today has been one of those days. you know the ones that you just feel plain crappy? yeah, it was one of those. the majority of the day was spent with a heating pad on my back. i got out of the house to watch the brother play baseball. okay, fine that part was really good. after arriving home i could not for the life of me relax so i decided to paint my nails. naturally the nail polish remover is no where to be found so my wonderful mother helped me pick the current polish off of my nails in order to replace the weeks old polish! she is a rockstar, that lady. now i have been staring at my computer and still can't relax. while staring at my computer i decided i hate how the blog looks, so it is now in the process of being changed. and...i still am not one ounce tired. boom. i am terribly sorry for that rampage. but i never do it so hopefully you can all forgive me and cut me some slack this once.

soon i will post something worth while on here. if finals and moving plans don't take my life. (purposely over-dramatic? maybe.)

touched by this

i have listened to this six times in a row. it gives me chills. i love listening to full orchestra's play and music always touches my heart!

i am so grateful for the feelings that come by the holy ghost. isn't it amazing that even a song can help your testimony grow?

another one gone and another one home

this dapper looking fellow is taylor cox. he is basically a brother to me. we grew up with each other and have always spent lots of time around each other because our little brothers are the exact same age and are always playing sports together. tay got called to serve in guatemala and left almost two weeks ago.
he was so excited and so ready to go. i talked to him the day he left and it was pretty special to be able to console his worries and tell him how amazing he would be! i am so proud of him. he wanted nothing more than to get out there and start serving! i will definitely miss him.

on monday i got to go to the airport and see this kid walk off the plane to finish his mission! sam and i were good friends in high school and i could not be more happy that he is home! he served in canada. brrrr.
 hailee erik and sam
erik was also a close friend in high school. he came home at the first of february! seeing these boys come home makes me realize just how much i missed being with them and getting to talk to them and spend time with them. love them! there is just nothing like good friends!

sammer dear needed some help with updating his wardrobe so courtney and i gladly volunteered to go on a shopping spree with him and erik.

we came out with a good haul! look out ladies sam will be looking fresh and clean in all his new threads! we had such a great time catching up with erik and sam. as we were walking into the mall erik looked at me and said, man i feel like we are back in high school! it totally did but i didn't mind it at all! we are maybe a little older, and hopefully a whole ton wiser but being back with them is so great! the best part is that the others aren't too far behind. wes comes home in june, tay comes home in july and then they all start rolling in after that! i. can't. even. wait. sure do love all those missionary boys!
