my march madness

on the very first day of march i sent in my signed contract and deposit check for my apartment in provo. wowzers. kind of a weird moment to be paying for my own place for the first time.
clear back in november hailey and i went bowling with some of our basketball friends. being the competitive girls that we are we talked a bit of trash and wound up in a bet with these two below. needless to say we lost miserably. we asked them what they wanted and they simply asked for a nice home cooked breakfast. boy were they excited for their breakfast. well.....four months later we finally worked out a time to have them over for breakfast.
quan and griff requested french toast, bacon and hash browns. i have never in my life seen someone so excited to eat a piece of french toast. poor college boys!
cute pic huh? photo credit goes to our dear quan!

march is my favorite month ever. want to know why? because it means baseball season is starting! i loooove baseball. and i especially love watching anthony play baseball. even if it is freezing cold and i have to wrap up like a chimichanga to stay warm.

i eat at least one or two tootsie pops every game. probably not good but whatevs.
look at that stud in white. he be my brother!
this little cutie is named hailey hill. i was her primary teacher last year and now here papa is a coach for dixie so she comes and sits with me at games all the time. love her! she is a little dancer and has told me she wants to grow up and dance like me. melt your heart much? yeah mine too.
the weekend spring break started i went up to provo to watch courtney's dance review at uvu. she is amazing and has a gorgeous little sister taylor whom i claim as my own.
 alicia and will
abby girl
spring break was great! got to spend quite a bit of time with courtney while she was down here and even got some time with my lovely friend kenz morgan. she is going to be my un-official room mate in the summer. cannot wait!
 swig cookies? mmm mmm mmm.
started watching prison break from the beginning. semi scary but i love it!
i love mini golf so much my face shines!
these guys are goofs. and they are moving to orem which means we can still have good times! bonus.
this little weasel turned 11. wow i can't believe he is that old. love him!

welp there you have it! march was good to me..i hope it was good to you as well! xoxo

you know you are growing up when...

finding the perfect bedding for your new apartment makes you just as excited as finding a perfect outfit. ever since i knew i was moving i have been on the hunt for that perfect bedding. i am such a picky person about stuff like that and i refuse to spend any money unless i absolutely love what i am paying for. i avoided this bedding for so long because it is striped. i have an obsession with striped and unconsciously buy striped things all the time, then realize i am surrounded by stripes. but, i kind of like being surrounded by stripes. i have got stripe fever i guess! i finally decided that if i love stripes and i love the bedding and haven't found anything else then this is it. now i get to start looking for things to accompany the bedding! ooh i just love playing house!! now you are probably wondering why you just read a post about my new bedding and my obsession with stripes. what can i say, it is late and i felt like writing and i am quite excited about my purchase so this is what came from that combination!

also...i just returned home from seeing hunger games for the second time. i read all the books and loved them and was quite pleased with the movie too. obviously, or i wouldn't have gone twice! have you seen it? what did you think about it? anywho...i better get myself to bed now before i ramble on more about random things. nighty night!

friendships like these

a couple weeks ago gentry hailey and i went on a little girls date. it was perfectly perfect and we had an amazing night talking and laughing about some very interesting, terrifying and humbling topics. love these girls with my whole heart! ready to have your heart broken? i have to leave them in saint george when i leave to attend buy. thinking about it too long makes me cry. i worked an eight hour shift on saturday and spent three hours of it on the verge of tears because i couldn't stop thinking about having to leave them. good thing i will have a big bed with half reserved for them whenever they decide to come visit me! and you bet your bottom dollar i will be visiting them at home as frequently as i can!

we ended our night on the town walking around the temple talking about our future big days and how amazing the gospel is. nothing beats talking about such important things in life with people who are such important parts of your life. how did i get so blessed with amazing friends? i am one lucky girl!

hawaii 2012 part four

our last day in hawaii we woke up to this....

completely dumping rain. not even just lightly sprinkling....pouring with all it's might!

our balcony was our favorite part of our room so we had to spend a few momentus minutes on it since it was our last day! even if it was raining cats and dogs.
shaylee jacky camille and i went to breakfast at the little cafe we ate at our very first day in town. right before we left the hotel it cleared up and the sun came out! yippee!!! that lasted all of five minutes. while we were still on the street it started dumping again. these are our "we hate that it is raining today and that we have to go back to utah" faces.

after breakfast shaylee and i took to the streets and shopped, shopped, shopped! we ran from store to store in between cloud bursts and had a great time together.
we then had to head back to our rooms to pack everything up! these next couple pictures are a little out of place but they show how things were in our little room for the week.

i also forgot to mention previously that hailey, shaylee and i shared a full bed the entire trip. we may have spooned a little? hey...it was a desperately cramped bed! oh the things we do to save moneys.
we said goodbye to our rooms and to our cute little maid. we even gave her a little stuffed doggy as a present! she was so cute and grateful and was so excited to go home and give it to her grandkids. next on the agenda was lunch at california pizza kitchen. camille looked like a homeless person packing around the backpack wearing only a swimsuit and a jacket over it. haha she is a hoot!
we had one more basketball game that we performed at and then it was off to the airport. kori's husband was our second van driver but he had to go home a day earlier than us so...four of us got booted into a taxi for the remainder of monday. shaylee made good friends with our little driver and we learned all about his family!
 we love taxi's!!
after a pit stop at mcdonalds (i ordered a mcflurry at ten o'clock at night. totally necessary) we rushed through security and boarded the plane! camille and i had the two seats on the outer edge of the plane. my first time ever sitting so close to the window and it was pretty cool!
and that's it folks. the end of the picture overload has come. to sum it up in a few words...this trip was a dream, amazing and definitely the best trip i have ever been on! my heart is definitely sad that i won't be joining the team next year but it is time for me to be a cougar! one thing is for sure...i will always and forever love my rebs and remember this trip for the rest of my life!

over the big blue

one day in hawaii a couple of girls stayed in waikiki while the rest of us went to blowhole cove and hanauma bay. they decided to go parasailing and had such great stories to tell us all when we got back. hailey and i looked at our assistant coach kristi and without even saying anything we knew we had to go. the thought of it was a little scary if i thought about all the things that could go wrong, you know...what if the parachute breaks and we fall in the water and get eaten by sharks...those kinds of thoughts. but i am such a thrill seeker and had wanted to do it last year so it was decided! we called and book our spot on the boat sunday morning and sunday afternoon we were on the little trolly transport to the bay that the business was located in.

i get insanely car sick but have never felt sick on a boat before. taking this boat out on the ocean changed that. i thought i was going to throw up after only being on the boat for five minutes. the waves were pretty big and my stomach was not pleased. we held strong though, no throw up!
the parasail crew consisted of me, hailey, tessie, garrett, kayla, angie, kristi and heather oh and four other random people that we didn't know that were an absolute hoot!
kayla and angie: two of our beautiful cheerleader friends

 here we go!!!!!

this is my, please do not throw up face. the take off was a little bumpy and had my stomach even more upset than just sitting in the boat.

after a few minutes the wind caught the parachute enough and up we went!

.......clearly i let out a long stream of screams and laughs. we have many pictures of me with a wide open mouth. gosh lys, just be brave and smile like a normal human!

before we got up in the air one of the guys on the boat told us we were in whale territory and that if we kept our eyes peeled we might see one! we kept our eyes verrrry peeled and when we got at peak height hailey spotted something out in front of the boat. after a couple seconds i spotted it too. yes, there was a whale swimming along right in front of the boat. then it was as if he called his friends over to show off for us. there were at least seven whales swimming out around the boat. we were yelling back at the boat and pointing so everyone else could see them! it was so cool. all the sudden hailey grabs my hand and says ever so slowly.....looooook dooown. she seemed almost scared so i was thinking great, here is that shark that knows our rope is going to break. ever so cautiously i looked down and saw the most amazing thing i have ever seen with my own eyes. directly under us was a gigantic, ginormous, huuuge whale! it was right on the surface of the water, dorsal fin sticking proudly out in the open air as it spouted water from it's blowhole. because it was so close to the surface we could see the entire outline of it's enormous body. holy.....holy......i don't have many other words than ahhh-mazing! it just happened to be swimming in the same direction of our boat so it was right under us for a few good minutes. just seeing that was worth the fifty dollars we paid.
the driver then decided to give us a nice dip in the water. hailey and i both weren't sure if we felt so keen about that seeing how there were hugeo whale friends swimming around but in we went! not without a few screams though.

such an amazing experience! if you ever have the chance i highly recommend going. floating that high in the air gives you a pretty fantastic perspective of how vast the ocean is and how beautiful it is. seeing whales was just the cherry on top of it!
