hawaii 2012 part two

on friday morning we woke up with the sun and went to breakfast with the cheer boys! we went to denny's. bad idea. they are now on my "do not eat there list." too bad for you denny's!
just like always our rooms were the first two up and ready for the day so we had some time to kill while we waited for everyone else. today in our free time lionel proposed to tessie. such an adorbs couple right?!

...barry was such a cute and happy witness to the occasion!
last year we spent a day at blowhole cove and absolutely loved it so we went back this year.
isn't it beautiful?! we call it our secret spot. no it is not secret but there was only two other people down there so we claimed it as our little secret! maybe there were only two people down there because we had to climb a wall to get down? illegal? maybe. but oh so worth it! we hiked up and around on some of the cliffs for a while and some of the girls spotted something big moving in the water. we all crowded around and waited for it to surface.....it was a ginormous sea turtle!! kid you not the diameter of it's shell was way bigger than my head and torso together. and there was more than one! after watching for a few minutes three more came swimming up to the surface. wow. it was amazing. seeing wildlife in their natural habitat just living their life is breath taking to me. we took a ton of pretty pictures from the rocks but they are on jacky's camera so when i finally pester her enough to get them i will put them up.

this picture doesn't look like much is happening but i had to put it up for my memories sake. the waves coming into this little cove were pretty powerful. camille decided she wanted to snorkel a bit and was trying with all her might to swim against the waves that were crashing in on her. every time she saw something cool she would start flailing her arms and pop her head up out of the water to try and talk to us. because of the fact that she had a snorkel in her mouth we could not understand a word she was saying but she kept on shouting and mumbling to us about her findings. as jacky, tessie and i stood there laughing at her like idiots the waves decided to get back at us for making fun of our friend. one minute i was standing there looking at jacky and the next minute i was under water getting tossed and turned and pushed back in to shore. the above picture is us recovering from our horrible experience. all of our team mates on the beach said it was one of the more funny things they have seen in life. my legs flying in the air and jacky screaming like a child! in reality we are just lucky that we didn't get knocked into the big black cliff in the right side of the picture. definitely a fond memory/story of the trip!
kori and kristi told us all to do funny faces...of course they smiled all pretty. you sneaky coaches!

this picture captures the feeling of the entire trip. being there with dear friends enjoying the gorgeous landscape, being serenaded by the ocean and not having a care in the world. if ever i am having a bad day one look at this picture helps me calm down and cheer up.
before the trip to hawaii we had to decide how to split the rooms up. i am an organized clean freak so i came right out and told the girls that the four cleanest of them would be my room mates! (being co-president of the team has it's certain perks) the funny thing is that the girls easily separated themselves into who would and who wouldn't be clean and they took no offense to it!
the clean and organized room roomies...
....the insanely dirty and cluttered room roomies. i should have taken a picture of their room. it gave me anxiety just looking at it. not even kidding!

after a few hours exploring at blowhole cove we went to hanauma bay for the rest of the day. hanauma bay was also visited on this same day with the rebs last year.

this is kristi shaw our assistant coach. this lady has been through so much. i just absolutely love her to death!

jacks shay and i decided we didn't want to snorkel this day so we spent these few hours walking the beach, drawing in the sand and having really good heart to heart chats. jacky had a bunch of snacks in her bag so we set down our towels and continued talking and snacking on her goodies. before we knew it there was a crowd of birds trying to move in on us all sneaky like. as soon as i noticed them getting uncomfortably close i was off the ground and twenty feet away. gigantic pigeons are not on my like list. i then had the brilliant idea to throw some crackers all over right behind jacky's towel. lucky for us i had the camera close by to catch the happenings as the birds swarmed her. she freaked out a little bit first but then embraced the following. she began marching around her towel calling for her baby birds to fall in line and follow mommy. she had the whole beach laughing at her including us. we sure do love her.

jacky is always good for plenty of laughs!

after hanauma bay we headed back to the hotel and got freshened up for dinner at cheesecake factory with the basketball team! we were excited to see our friends on the team.
elevator mirror pic? yes please!

because of the fact that we had forty people in our dinner party we had to wait for what felt like a million years to get our tables. so we took off to walk on the beach. there is nothing quite like the sound of the ocean with the moon reflecting off of it...ahh such paradise.
hmm...does something look familiar about these two pictures? the boys took their picture on a different camera and none of us girls even noticed that they had taken it until it showed up on facebook when we got home. definitely making fun of our "girly picture poses" as they like to call it.

this year the dancers and ball players have been really close and we are all great friends. the boys on the team are definitely some of the best friends i have made in my college years. i just love these guys!
thee beautiful hailey hammer! ow ow such a hottie she is!
finally at dinner! brittany and tessie.
 sunburned lobster, shaylee and jessica

after dinner we hit some shopping. guess where we ran first...

we love v.s.!!! if you are ever in waikiki you have to go and check out this store. it was masterfully decorated. probably my favorite victoria's....ever.
