hawaii 2012 part three

saturday was the day we headed to the north shore for the byu-h game. here is yet another balcony pic but we spent a lot of time on this thing! it was too pretty outside to keep the door shut. the second that everyone in the room was awake for the day the balcony was opened and left open at all times when we were in the room. yes, paradise is the perfect word.

first stop on the north side was the dole plantation! yummy in the tummy!
hails picked an oyster with black pearl in it! i loooove pearls.

back in the vans again driving along and traffic got a little bad so we were driving pretty slow. next thing we know shaylee is running along side the road trying to catch up to our van!
nothing was wrong they just wanted the ipod cord. haha we love shaylee!
we stopped at a road side fruit stand on the way and indulged in the most delicious mango, pineapple and coconut! the stuff here in utah tastes nothing like it does over there. soooo delicious! our beach for the day was waiamea and boy was it gorgeous! i wasn't able to catch a picture at the perfect time but the waves were huge....no...they were gigantic!!

after some good time at the beach we had to continue on towards byu-h but not without stopping and eating at giavannis shrimp truck. mmm mmm good!
after lunch we raced to the school for a quick shower and freshen up and then we were dressed and in the stands to watch the girls and then the boys game! we got to dance at half time again which was loads of fun! it was an awesome game both teams battled hard and came out with the win! we even stormed the court. yeah i know we did it in high school too but sometimes it just happens!
the game ended around nine thirty and we all were starving so we hit a little strip mall with a couple nutritional food places like pizza hut, taco bell and an ice cream store.....so healthy. because it was clearly the best option shaylee and i got a nice big ice cream cone and a piece of pizza and yes we enjoyed every last morsel! we were all a bit hyper on the drive back around the island. poor jeffy dog (jeffy dog is kori's husband. we only call him jeffy dog because she does. pretty sure he hates it when we call him that? haha)
we danced and sang and made terribly ugly faces for the camera all the way back to the hotel. then we basically passed out the second we got to our rooms. just partying too hard!

sunday morning we woke up and went to church. not without getting lost on the way there first and having our life flash before our eyes when kori turned onto and started driving down a one way street in the wrong direction. yes that really happened. yes we were terrified.
the basketball boys showed up at the same meeting as us!
after church we headed back to the hotel, put on our sun gear and out we went to walk the streets to kill some time.
lunch today was a puka dog. it took some convincing to get me to eat it because normally hot dogs make me sick but i agreed to try it for the sake of hawaii. boy am i glad i tried it! mine was a spicy polish dog with pineapple relish and lilikoi mustard. i probably could have downed two of them!
we spent a lot of time looking and shopping in the international market over the trip. it is just full of little shops that have trinkets and random stuff that make great souvenirs.
at one twenty five sharp this group of us boarded this little trolly thing and headed out to our next activity...
this sign was at the check in booth. it was too good to not take a picture of it.
we paid our fifty dollars and signed our life away and then we were ready to...
...get strapped to a giant parachute and parasail over the big blue! (parasailing will get a post of it's own in the near future)
after parasailing we went and got ready for dinner. cheesecake factory again! but first barry took me on a ride in his little car/scooter thing he rented for the day. isn't it just the cutest little thing?
it was fun to cruise around the city with the wind in our hair. there was only one slight scare when barry took a turn very sharp and i almost ended up on the road outside of the trusty red mobile.
we made it back safely and it was off to dinner for the rebs!
our last free night on the island. sad sad day!
